hi there, Im setting up a shrimp tank soon. So could probably do with some help, this is gonna sound like a really dum question but what is it and what do you do with it, my only understanding of it, is its to do with bacteria etc (weres a paper bag smiley when you need it)

Mature media is just a sponge or noodles that have been in a filter for enough time that they are mature enough to be halfed to start a new tank as the bacteria is nice and strong.
As an example you could get a pack of cermic noodles for ebay for £5 and swap them from someone else who has mature noodles. That way no one loses out and you get a instane boost to your cycle
