Didnt know where exactly to post this so I posted it here... What are some good semi-aggressive small cichlids? I have a 35gallon community tank, and i'm looking for some more fish with color and personality. I know Ram Cichlids are a lower aggression small cichlid, but wanted to know what other ones were out there.

It really depends on your tank mates, but chances are not too many cichlids will mix well in a community. What are some tank mates? You're right, rams are not too aggresive to other fish, Angelfish are a great cichlid that mix well in communities. I have heard from others that severum are good for certain communities, but I've never had them. Your best best would be the rams(a sensitive species, pH, nitrates, etc have to be right on) or angels in my opinion.

Currently have a RTBS, 3 tiger barbs, 2 emerald corydoras, a whiptail catfish, and a senegal bichir. I figured a pair of Rams or maybe 3 would be the last addition to my tank.

I'm gonna head down to my local LFS tomorrow I beleive they have a new batch of locally bred Blue Rams and some Apistos. I'll check them out and maybe bring a pair home. My PH is currently 6.8, water is on the softer side and temperature is always 78-80F.
As long as they wont bother any of my other fish i'll grab a pair.

Also how well do Rams do with Dwarf Gouramis?

Just keep in mind that German Blues arent particularly hardy so if your water stats arent spot on they wont live for very long. Bolivians took similar to German Blues but are much hardier. They do grow a little bigger and arent as colourful, however.

And they should be fine with gouramis because rams tend to stay in the lower part of the tank, whereas gouramis are more mid to top level.

I have recently started adding some cichlids to my fish database. There are not many in there so far, only 11. However, the search results are still usefull. Here they are:

You can click on a column title to sort by that column. In your case I would sort by Temperament, or perhaps minimum tank size, to get an idea of what might fit your needs.

I hope you find something you like!

The only other suggestion for your tank is that I thought most corydoras prefer to be in groups a little bigger than 2. I would suggest investigating getting another 1 or 2 emerald corydoras.

Well I went to my LFS and just got back... They had some very very colorfull rams there.. They only had 3 german blues left and they all looked great.... they were just to small for me. Being as they were only maybe 1" big I feared my RTBS would bother them to much, stress them out and ultimately end up killing them due to stress from his agressive attitude.

They also had some very beautiful dwarf gouramis there that caught my eye. I ended up coming home with a pair of dwarves a Powder Blue Gourami, and a Fire Red Gourami. I figure they are enough of an addition to my tank for now. A little further down the road i'll be setting up a Cichlid tank so i'll wait until then before getting any Cichlids.

Thanks for all the info and help!
