Hey Guys,

Just wondered if someone could give me a few pointers, been researching Marine for about 5weeks now and decided to bite the bullet and get a small tank, so my LFS sell the Nano Wave Cubo 30L so picked up one of these.
Got a 25W Heater to.

Questions........

1. Once set up and filled with Salted RO water and brought to Temp can i add LR right away and then leave it.

2. Would i benifit from a Powerhead if so what LPH?

3. What else is needed in the filter as some people put zeolite and stones what do you guys use?

4. Is there anything else i should know or be looking out in the starting stage?

Thanks Guys and Girls.

Tom

1.) As long as salt has dissolved in the RO Water and temperature is fine then, yep you can add in the LR then the sand.

2.) 30LX25= 750LPH approx (maybe 1 Koralia Nano) are you running a filter too?

3.) People on here use, filter floss, LR rubble, phosphate removers, Carbon.

4.) Research, research and research some more! :)

SideNote: There is a sticky on UR;- its the same tank as yours, it shows how to set it up etc. Have you seen it?

:good:

Yeah read that really great read,

Also the im using the filter/skimmer that come with the tank thats why i asked about the powerhead as its not enough flow,

Could someone point out some bits you rec for the filter?

Well, then you will defos need another powerhead then to circulate all the water and make sure the water goes all around the Live rock :)

Yeah just been looking at the one you reccomended think ill get that one,

As for the filter i.e carbon/floss/and phosphate remover hoe often do they need to be changed and what do you recc??

Dont quote me on this, but i am 80% sure...

Carbon- Every 4-5 days
Floss- Not sure
Phosphate Remover- Every 3-5 weeks.

I will not be running a Filter on my tank, so i have no experience on using Mechanical filtration or what should be going into it.

:good:

thats ok, do you jus use the bag of carbon and bag of phos remover or Liuid phos remover

A bag of Carbon and a bag of Phosphate remover like RowaPhos.

The phosphate remover needs to be placed in something that has a high turnover rate, so a filter or powerhead.

Apparently liquid Phosphate removers are dangerous or not advisable so to speak.

also iv read tht the skimmer does work very well is it still ok to use it as a filter.
