Hi,
Im new here, Im going to be having a whole new setup very soon im just seeling my old tanks setups.

I am going explain it with the most detail as I can.

Right im having a sand bank in the one corner of the tank what will ba around 12" x 12" x 12" then a drop that leads to the botom of the tank, I will be adding live plant into the tank and also the will be bogwood around the bottom of the tank and on the sand bank the will be some sort of tree brach witch will be going across the sand bank and then slowly slants down just off the edge (any ideas where i can get one of the branches?),then there will be bogwood, rocks and live plants on the bottom of the tank (after the drop off), I will be having 2 x internal fillters in the tank, 1x 300w heater and a bubble pump.

The stocking of the tank will be the following fish listed in numbers,

neon tetras x 10 ( will add 20 after first 10 settle into the tank as they will be first fish added)
mixed cory catfish x 10
3 x striped doras catfish
3 x spotted black doras catfish
6 x angel fish off spring of wild angels ( when I get a pair will sell other 4)
1 x giant wihp tail catfish (only gets 8 inch long at max)
possibely 4 x discus in the future im thinking blue snake skin as they are stunning fish.

Ill add more stuff on later as i just had a mate visit with 12 bottles of stella and its starting to affect me so give me about 2 hours and ill right more stuff.
thanks

Hi there welcome to the forum! That stocking sounds really nice, I just got some whiptails today still quite small but amazingly interesting already. Cant wait for them to get some size on them!

What size tank is this though? IMO for that kind of list you will need around 250-300 liters but it would be an amazing tank. Only issues I can see with the stocking is the cories, its best to keep them all of the same species as thats how you get the best schooling behaviour but its also whats best for the fish as well. Also not an issue but something to consider, the spotted doras are notorious for hiding all the time so you might not see them very often and 6 4-6 inch fish is quite a bit of your stocking...

Also if you want to end up with a discus tank, you might want to have a look in the new world cichlid section as there are quite a few members doing discus tanks atm and a lot of interesting info about the specialst care they need dotted around, would be well worth a read :)

Now then what do you know about cycling?
