Please help me!!

After doing a fishless cycle in our new tank we introduced 3 guppies at the weekend. All seemed to be ok until this morning when I saw there was some frothy / foam water gathering around the top of the water. Unfortunately I had to get to work so didn't get time to change the water or do any tests.

Has anyone experiences this before and do you know what could be causing it and how to fix it?

Thanks

Jo

Sometimes surface foams can be made up of proteins, no big deal usually. You can usually clear by skimming with a cup and then finalizing with a paper towel. If it continues you might want to experiment with different feeding amounts or different foods, questioning from that direction.

Perhaps some other members with more experience than me will have some other possibilities.

I had exactly the same in my shrimp tank this morning. Turns out there was some air in the filter (as I moved everything into a new tank yesterday) and the output was frothing the water. I just gave the filter a bit of a shake and turned it on it`s side to get rid of the air and it`s been absolutely fine since, the bubbles/foam dispersed by itself.
