New Veiltail Boy!

Found this beautiful boy at petsmart today, if you read my other post about my veiltail breeding project, you'll know that I want to start developing a line of show quality veiltails. This guy has some really nice form to start working with, his caudal and anal are pretty even length wise, he has a nice topline, and his color.

Meet Raj (Took this pics with my cell, I'll get better ones soon!)

This is the girl I want to breed him with if I do breed him, going to start conditioning them tomorrow. The IBC president suggested crossing DT into the VT lines to help strengthen the rays and broaden the base of the caudal and dorsal fins! This girl was bred by basementbettas on Aquabid and her daddy was a BOS male!

He is a beauty and the female is gorgeous! makes sense with using a DT female especially to enhance the dorsal, i love DT dorsals!

Yeah I know I'm really hoping to have some viable VTs to send to a show by summer/fall 2013, I think thats a realistic goal!
