............... so , help me out please , it takes 2 36w pl-l tubes , i nearly borked at the price being asked at my LFS , so i did a bit of rooting about on the net and i came up with http://www.the-energy-saving-shop.com/produkt.php?pm_id=1383&campaign=Kelkoo_GB , now the problem , i am not sure which colour to go for to show off the fishes colours the best and would i benefit from getting 40 or even 55 watt tubes instead of the 36 ones that i have now considering it is quite heavily planted , at the moment i dont have a great deal of problem with algae , so i dont want to cause a problem , i usually have the lights on for about 6-7 hours / day , thanks in advance --- paul

You can not put high watt lights into a unit, There different fitments so your stuck with 36Watts.

As for colour, You want a daylight one and a tropical one. But those look fine the ones you linked but I expect they wont be that great.

Thanks for the reply , I thought pl-l was the same whatever the wattage , do I want to be going lower or higher in terms of kelvin from the 7.1 kelvin tubes I have now ? .....

I donno what kelvin has to do with lighting etc. I just buy fish made PL lights. PL lights are stupid due to there high prices, Better off with T5;s.
