i have kept malawi cichlids for years and decided to give tropheus duboisi a try, i have always wanted them but been a little scared of them, anyway have a small school of young fish now and was wondering on feeding habbits. my malawi cichlids meet me ravenously and the water boils as they compete for food but the tropheus seem to totally ignore me and the food and keep swimming arround and occasionally might eat something. is this normal? im feeding a combo of veges, spirulina flake and occasionally pellets but they dont seem to really be interested in any of it

Tropheus are much more "laid back" than Mbuna so you are unlikely to see that feeding frenzy. They are Herbivores so your food regime seems fine - just check what's in the pellets. I have a couple of Tropheus species in with my Mbuna and they do a lot more "grazing" on the rocks than anything else.

Depending on how long you've had them - they may just be settling in still.

Lots of good info here:
