common plecs Will grow to around 18inches in length, so you will be eventually looking at a very large tank to accommodate two of these fish,

IMO if you are new to fish keeping you need to do a lot of research before you purchase two of these fish, they produce a Lot of waste and you will need a tank at least 5ft in length + a large cannister filter.

Hi :hi: to the forums :D

Common plecs need a very large tank as they grow very large, 4ft x 2ft x 2ft will be adequate for one(not sure about more than 1), people have kept them in slightly smaller such as 4ft x 18" x 18" but really you want a 4x2x2 to give them plenty of space.

Do you have the fish already? If you don't I'd recommend rethinking your stocking(unless your getting a 4x2x2) and do a fishless cycle before any fish go in the tank. IF you already have the fish I'd advise you try to take them back to the shop so that you can do a fishless cycle, as well as get the appropriate size tank(if you don't already).

Plecs like to have wood in their tank, bogwood or driftwood(it may be labelled differently in your local fish shop, just ask for some wood the plecs can chew on). They eat algae wafers, most vegetables (cucumbers & courgettes seem to be the most commonly given vegetables), bloodworms, tubiflex,shrimp/prawn.

Also you'll want plenty of filtration as plecs can be very messy fish.

Have a read of the pleco forum, there is plenty of information for you to read up on :good:

HTH :D

No, afraid not, with the rainbow and RTB sharks you should only add one shark per tank, unless your tank is of a considerable size. mature sharks are highly territorial and with 6 sharks your bound to have lots of aggression in the tank.
