Hi Everyone, I am new to the forums but have had fish for a couple of years now. I know about the nitrogen cycle, etc. My tank was lightly stocked, and I was in search of some fish to add. Fish with a lot of personality, so I went to the pet shop and the store owner recommended blood parrot cichlids. I bought two tiny 2" parrots. They are the most personable fish I have ever had! They know who feeds them, and always come out to greet me when I approach their tank.
After doing research, I am happy to find that they look more like the jellybean parrots, which are part convict and they would grow 4-6". I was happy to find this out, because at first I read they would need a 55 gallon tank! a 55 gallon is just too big for me to care for.
Right now, they are in a 20 gallon long with 4 danios and 1 common pleco. Petco is having a sale on 29 gallon tank kits, and I plan on purchasing one to move them into in about 2 weeks. Knowing that they are jellybean parrots, will a 29 gallon be sufficient? Thanks!
P.S. I will move the filter media to the new tank to keep the cycle going strong.
