Hi everyone, My name is Heidi and I am new to the forum also. My Boyfriend Tony and I started on Puffer fish about 2 months ago and we love them. We bought them at walmart with no guidence and through some tria and error and alot of reading up on them. We finally have a great grasp and these cool guys. We have a 75 gallon medium brakish tank. With 4 puffers 3 meduim and one a little bigger then medium. And 2 scats. The scats and the puffers get along well. We have lots of decor, couldnt keep any live plants so settled on fake ones. Got a couple peices of slate in between rocks they like to hide under. We recently changed the bottom from gravel to crushed argonite. That is supposed to help keep the PH stable and the nitrates low and it looks really cool.
We also just finshed setting up a 10 gallon tank to breed snails for the guys. They love Krill, and blood worms, We occasionly give them live crabs and they just love those guys! It takes them a while to catch them though. We tried ghost shrimp but the puffers have a tough time finding them, their good hiders. We do a 20 gallon water change once a week. They sure are fun fish to have!
