Stumbled across the forum looking for info about brackish and marine tanks. I just purchased a 75g I am hoping to turn into a home for a moray.
I currently have a 55g with quite the motley of fish. A baker's dozen of African cichlids, 2 Raphael Cats, 2 Banjo cats, a common pleco and a fire eel. I am in the process of setting up a 55g for my wife. A red tiger oscar will inhabit this tank along with the common pleco from my cichlid tank.
Before I can set up the 2nd 55 I need to build a stand for it. And I am doing research for the 75g before I do anything there. There are so many conflicting articles about the Gymnothorax tile and I don't want to do things wrong. Most seem to agree that it is brackish to marine with the adult cycle being totally marine.
I've always wanted a marine tank, but it seems so daunting. And if I did a marine setup I think I would go with a different moray as the only reason I wanted a Gymnothorax tile was because initially I read they were strickly brackish and not marine. The first eel I saw and fell in love with was the Echidna nebulosa (snowflake eel).
Almost forgot, some pics of my tank, http
