Please I am going to get mystery snails on Saturday and I need a nice care sheet. Please I need to know How many can I keep in a 5 gallon? What they eat? How the water temp should be? How much can they breed? and other stuff. I have had them before but they died like 3 days after I got em'.

They eat algae and stuff. Put some ammonia in the tank. And a used filter (with beneficial bacteria). Cycle the tank real quick. Put in some plants. And have the tank in sun/florescent light. Some snails breed a lot.

There's a caresheet the fish species index: http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showto...p;#entry1630498

You can keep two in a 5-gallon, maybe a few more if it's overfiltered.
They'll eat just about anything. A good staple would be sinking pellets and algae wafers
They should do fine at most temperatures, around 75f should be good
Once they start breeding, they'll lay eggs about once a week. Separate sexes I believe

Make sure your water is copper-free and has a PH of 7+

Myestery snails are often referred to as Apple snails also.
However here is some quick information and links on them...

Temperature:
I would keep only one as they can get quite large depending on what all they eat. They like the tropical fish temperature, however can do well in coldwater temps too (I have done that before and had no problems).

Food:
They like to eat romaine lettuce, leftover food, algae wafers, spirulina wafers, shrimp pellets. They pretty much eat whatever.

Breeding:
If there are two snails in the tank....they will breed. At least that's how it happened with mine. They will lay hundreds of eggs in a bunch, usually outside the water, and right above the waterline, or on your light hood. The eggs are usually pink in color and in little clumps. They are not hard to breed at all. The difficulty is not having them breed.
