Got our first pair of mollies. I think they are both female but that doesn't matter I don't really care about breeding them. They are in my community tank now but I would like to move them over to my brackish tank at somepoint. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Also, they are VERY actice as compared to the glow-lite tetras. Swimming constantly and begging all the time from day one. Is this normal for them?

I have 2 male sailfin molly's in my community tank and they are by far the most active and aware of my presence...i love it, i didn't think i would care much about them when i added them but they are so far my favorites.

Mollies are definitely interested in food at all times. It is quite normal behavior but you need to avoid overfeeding them.

As far as adding them to a brackish tank, they will be fine as long as you acclimate them slowly to the added salt concentration. Pet shop mollies were once considered the ideal fish to cycle a salt water tank. They can thrive in full salt water or pure fresh water.

Is there any difference in life span in fresh vs salt mollies?

I have not seen any difference listed in terms of life span. I do not keep my fish salty so I cannot compare them in my own tanks. It can be amazing to look at a thriving and reproducing molly in a tank with a typical salt water fish selection though.
