i recently put 4 baby green severums into the tank with my keyhole cichlids. they are probably 3-4 cm long at this stage. since putting them into my tank all my plants are developing holes, but i never see them nipping at the plants. can you have green severums in a planted aquarium?

I have nothing helpful to say, but this post made me giggle, because every morning I wake up and find a few more nibble-holes have appeared in my sev tank's plants. They keep uprooting my cabomba too, lol.

sevs eat plants, i would never keep them in a planted tank...they will make a quick snack of them

Yep sev's are a nightmare with plants, whilst they may not actually eat them, although some they will scoff happily, those they dont eat, they will nip, rip and throw around the tank with glee.

hi there. i have a few sev's and to be honest i have never had any problems with them eating the plants. at the time i had silver dollars and they wrecked my plants.
