Sorry Esfa, have to disagree with the last bit. All my Bettas are kept in filtered tanks and as result, I've never had any problems with illness, dislike of current etc.
The tank they are in is divided giving them 6G each and as it's an external filter, I can control the flow. They used to be kept in 5G tanks with internal filter and all I did was divert the flow to suit their needs.
I'm with jwddboy on this one, I don't agree with any fish being kept in an unfiltered tank.

alright, fair enough. We all have our own opinions!

There's lots of fish that'll go with a birchir. African butterfly fish, congo tetras, larger gouramis... anything over 4", really.
