Thanks for the warm welcome, guys! My goldfish are in a 1gallon tank. I know that's small but I can't afford much so it'll have to do. I'll try to get a pic later.

You can buy plastic storage boxes very cheaply, which would be better for the fish than being stuck in 1g; they will not live long like that

Fish don't need to be in fish tanks and with goldfish, the more water you can give them the better.
