As some of u already know i recently had a small but un repairaable leak in my 12GL tank and now i got a 27.5Gl tank and i was waundering how many fish i could have in there. i have a 50watt heater and about 40watts of light. and theres sand, rocks and a bit of wood in there. so apart from how much i can bave wot should i have?

isnt a 50W heater a bit small for a 27g tank?

anyway...fish...I'd go with some bottom feeders like cories or a small (!) plec...

I'd have to have cory's in there, peppered are nice, but the albino's I have are hyperactive to the point of being annoying , I'd also consider Panda or dwarfs, but they all like to be in groups so try and get six or so. I was told that different species of cory's will still shoal, but mine don't, so I'm splitting them and getting more of each, when my new tank(s) are ready.

I would also look at smaller pl*c like a bristlenose and throw away the algae magnet :D

they will shoal if they "have" to, eg if you had 2 peppered and 2 panda and summat scared them they might stick together for security, but they would much rather be in a same species group, and if you have six of each, you find that they keep strictly to those groups.

Thanks cd, I realise that now, that's the trouble with this hobby you ask for advice and get conflicting vies, by the time you realise it was wrong, they are in your tank :/ . Had I realised I would have got more Peppered's as I already had them.
