Okay,
Here's the situation i currently got a 45 gallon communal tank, which i have mentioned previously in another post, which i will be keeping. The problem i have is that i have a BGK fish in there, which i know , i know is too small, which is why i want to go and get a 90+ gallon tank.
Could you throw some suggestions my way as far a tanks go. (Currently have a juwel and it is nothing short of fantastic)
What is the ideal size tank for a BGK fish with a few fish friends with him.
Also suggestions on which fish to house with the BGK fish in the new tank would be much appreciated.

Cheers

If your going big that is great news :D What kind of budget do you have?

A Jewel Rio 400 would be a good start and are readily available, with the obvious advantages of coming with everything - though big not an ideal size still. Rena do a nice 6 foot tank.

Failing that you could look at custom made tanks, I have one by ND Aquatics who do a good range of them and not bad prices, they often do deals and offers which knock a good amount of money off and their budget range is also pretty good.

If you want to go down the secondhand route - the classifieds on this forum are good or ebay - there is a site called Aquarist Classifieds as well which you can usually find something on there.

As for tank mates you want larger fish that are not too boistrus to upset the BGK - things like medium sized plecos, hoplo catfish, pictus catfish, Ruby Barbs, Columbian Tetras, Yo yo loaches, headstanders, rainbow fish would be great. You could get some easy going cichlids in there as well things like Rainbow Cichlids, Satanopercas, Angels.

Cheers guys,

Could you keep oscars with BGK fish?.

i should have a budget of 500 pounds for a new tank..

BGK's are so fragile, one bite from an Oscar and it would be good bye mr BGK. If you're lucky enough to get a laid back Oscar then it would be ok.
