New Tank

I am picking up my new tank at the weekend

It is a Rena 440L (98g)
Lighting: 4 x 30 Watt tube
Filtration: Rena external power filter 1350l/h XP3, also Ehiem 2252 internal filter
Heating: 2 x 200W Heaters/thermostats

Dimensions: 121x51x70.5cm (LxDxH)

Originally I thought I would transfer the fish in my 125L Juwel into the new tank but (miraculously) have managed to find room for both

So now I will have a complete new setup which will be ace and I can start all over again.

Whilst I am getting it sorted out I want to think about stocking.

I was thinking more along the lines of bigger or unusual fish and a large group of small shoaling fish.

Would you like to share your thoughts and preferences with me please?

I would do:

2 Keyhole cichlids
50-100 Cardinal tetras
20-30 Sterbai cories.

A black ghost knife fish. One of my favourites. Have been told are a bit difficult but you sound and look like a bit of an expert. They are also nice community fish. Small group of silver sharks maybe, they get BIG, but only accustomed to the tank size though, and who wouldnt want sharks in there tank!!! hehe. Discus are possibilities, also quite hard to keep and are a bit restricted on tankmates. There are also some big gouramis that you can buy. Gouramis usually get quite big too. Angelfish also get large, and they are beautiful. But i think that a school of some kind of fish is a necessity in that large tank. Must be 6 foot im guessing? Or just a big squarish one. Hope this helps.

Prepare yourself for the weight of it...mine rena was heavy enough but yours is nearly twice the size!

I am sooo not an expert!!! If it weren't for these forums I would be in serious trouble But I have a couple of years experience now and am getting better slowly but surely
