Could try hatchets. Keep in mind Discus require a high tank temperature. Some fish cannot handle it.

Here would be what I would do:

5 Discus
15 Cardinal
10 Glowlight/Rummynose
10 Hatchets
10 Corydora Sterbai (sp. ?)


You say you have small Discus so until they grow out I wouldn't recommend any gravel.

It's horrible when they are young because they need a super clean aquarium in order to grow properly, and substrate can make it harder to clean the tank.
