Hi - how can I resolve problem of pump noise (humming) - its quite loud - can be heard above the telly especially when its just people talking? [/sup]

the pump in within a unit and sits free within the tank - would it make any difference if the tank is sited on a wooden floor?

Is the pump an internal filter style, or for a filter sitting on top of the aquarium? Pics might help.
