Hi :)
A couple of weeks ago I ordered a small 7gal for my most recent betta addition, a HM boy called Mace.

The tank arrived yesterday, and today I set it up, filling the whole thing with the water from Mace's old tank. Admittedly, his old tank was slightly bigger, but is one of those plastic critter keeper things & was unfiltered etc.

I thought his new tank would be better for him, but he doesnt like the filter flow lol.
The problem is, there is only 1 plug for the whole tank, so if I turn the filter off I am also turning the light and heater off!!

My other betta boy, Torben, was in his own unfiltered tank for agesss, but I recently moved him into my 70L community where at first he didnt seem too impressed with the slight water movement but he quickly adjusted and now he clearly loves being in there!

So, my question is, do I leave everything turned off.. or leave it all turned on and see if Mace will adjust to it? There isnt alot of water movement, only a couple of bubbles on the surface from the filter, but when I turn it on he swims to the bottom and just lays on the rock.
However when I turn it off, he swims around normally again.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post!

Hiya, thanks for replying :)
I figured out a way to disconnect the filter but so that the light and heater still work & Mace is much happier!

:)
