New Tank

Hi just bought an empty tank 220ltr and an eheim filter. I will be adding t5 compact lighting and heater. I need to know about the water & salt ( how much to add) and when to add the LR, also my filter comes without media, do I need to add it with LR in the tank? I will also be adding a protein skimmer but not sure on what size I need etc.. and the sand for the bottom, not sure again what to get. Please can anyone help

to the salty side of life. Your questions are very basic ones and all covered under the pinned topics at the top of this section of the forums. I highly suggest you take a read through them . That being said, some quick basic tips. LR IS your filter, no man-made media is required for your eheim. Chemical filtration like phosphate remover or carbon can be used, but no man-made bio filtration. LR is usually the first livestock you put in your tank after you have all your plumbing, powerheads, filtration, heating, and usually lighting in-place.

A lot of the answers to your questions and issues you posed are dependent upon what type of tank you want, so help us out. Are you just wantint to dabble in fish, or are you looking to keep corals longterm? And if so, what types of corals? Flowrate and skimming is very dependent on your choices here.
