New Tank!

Spent a good $40 on this; 5 gallon tank for my Betta and maybe some friends soon.

I was curious on a few things; What would you guys recommend on doing?

I've already put the water and conditioner in, and I have it going right now. There's nothing in the tank except water and the filter and the bio thing.

I'm going to add in the gravel and other stuff tomorrow. I was curious on how long I should leave my tank running; it says 24 hours but not sure if I should follow that.

If you actually want to cycle the filter (make sure that the beneficial bacteria get a chance to grow) Then it will take longer than 24 hours. If you look in the beginners section there is a pinned topic on fishless cycling.
