New Tank-woooooo

Ive got a new tank that has been cycled and nitrate, nirtite & amonia is perfect i have 3 clown loach in there i need fish to go in that will be cool to the clown loach im thinking to put my sucking loach in there as well.
the mesurements are in feet-

1' width
2' height
4' long

im not quite sure how many gallons it is if anyone new that would be great!!

fish that are from around from where the clown loaches came from
and fish that stay about the same size as the clowns
the water is slightly alkaline/hard
and have a good temperment.

clown loaches do end up growing quite large.....

yup but only as much as the tank allows it hopefully
but i hear different sizes everwhere like 15cm and 50 cm in different places.

that is a myth about fish growing to tank size<sorry>but clowns take forever to grow large

Well, Clown Loaches come from Southeast Asia in places like Borneo and Indonesia, ect. If you want to make a biotope of sorts and do other fish from this area you could probably do that. I did some research and other fish native to Southeast Asia include most loaches, barbs, danios, Cyprind sharks (Red-tail, Bala, etc.), small Asian catfishies, and some Asian knifefish species.

I do Amazonian fish myself so I don't know anything about any of those fish, so I'd definitely look them up before you go adding them to your tank.

Sorry but I think that's disgusting, I do happen to believe in the myth about fish growth which you appear to believe in, I assume you know this damages the fish alot and also shortens their lifespans?

well when the fish gets to big ill just dump it somwhere...im only jokin ill just get the even bigger tank from the attic its 80 gallons!! too big so i hope my loaches don't get to big to soon.

neat-o but why only get them from one place? i try to keep a "multicultural" tank and they all get along great =) even tho i only have 5 fish..

i don't no its cool just to get fish which were all from the same place it adds to a kind of strange atmostphere but i do have a few tanks with fish from everywhere.

I think most anabantoids are from that area (Asia and SE asia) - though I could just be making stuff up.

All sharks, other loaches, rainbows, barbs, gouramis, catfish, danios,

The list goes on... just do a search on google, ill be honest i knew very little on these guys untill yesterday i got interested in getting a couple and decided to google it... LOTS of sites will come up that are for the most part all helpful.
