I am so super excited :hyper: I just won a tank on eBay - not just any tank, but a Rena Aqualife Calvados Classic 120x50 (440litres or 115 US gallons). New it's £1,000.00 and I got it for just £250. Not just that, but I'm now going to sell my Juwel Vision 180 which I'll get a really good price for on eBay (the beech ones sell for around £180 - £200) which means I got this stunning tank for next to nothing :fun:

Spoke to the guy on the phone (he called me straight after the auction when I sent him my number) and picking it up this weekend.

Can't wait to give my fishies a new (more than twice the size) home! :hey:

It does mean though that I have to get rid of my second tank (19 gallon Tropiquarium) as that was the only arrangement the "other half" would agree to. Which I don't mind one bit because the majority of those occupants will go into the new supersized tank.

Guess it's difficult to see how excited I am ;)

Congrats! I know just how you feel, I've got some great bargains on there too. Look forward to seeing some photo's :)

Congrats on the new tank Bloo it looks great *jealous* :)

excellent congrats :good:

Technicaly I have a new tank today as well, it's my birthday and I got a massive tank for my Oscar and his friends..... but I actually got it a few months back as he was growing too fast so I had to move him. So not quite so exciting!

Thanks everyone :D

I had my eye on this tank you won, but I want a 6x2x2 rather
I would have loved a 6x2x2 tank, but just no room. This tank will fit absolutely perfectly into the alcove. But the great thing about this tank is that it's higher and deeper than average 4ft tanks - which gives it a whole 115 US gallons.

How much are you going to spend on the scaping and fish?
I really don't know yet, but not much at all I suspect.
Haven't even started thinking about stocking yet - I didn't want to count my chickens before the hatch. Though I know it will probably really only be money spent on a few fish as the tank comes with heaters, filters & sand substrate. I'm not a sand fan (poo always floating on surface  ), so might replace that with fine gravel – but seeing that it comes with the tank anyway I might as well give it a go again and see if I've had a change of heart. I have quite a few of my 19 Gallon occupants joining the guys from the current Juwel 180 in their new home – so I probably wont have a very much scope to add new fish. I'll have a little think during the day today and do some calculations :)

it's my birthday
:bday:

I recently bought a new tank around the same size as yours, so I can appreciate your excitement!

What sort of hardware are you using with it, or does it come with all the necessaries? Light tubes, filter, heater?

i like ebay: trash to someone is treasure to another.
:good:

Yep it comes with everything included as per the link in the very first post.
It's supposedly all in super excellent condition with the tank under a year old even.
However I shall reserve judgement on the Rena Filstar XP3 it comes with. It also includes 2 x 200W heaters and 4 x 30W lights.
I might just keep my Eheim 2224 or the 2213 and add it as extra filtration – not entirely sure yet.

Fantastic! I only ask because I spent hours finding the best deals for everything on line (I'm too tight to spend over the odds.).

You jammy get! I would have bid on that if i'd known it was there.

Mind you, I don't think my poor floor boards could cope with another large tank.
