So I didn't really know what thread to put this in but since it's involving African Cichlids this seemed to be the best spot.

Anyways, I just recently Purchased a 72 gallon bow front with a stand and all the bells and Whistles, with 2 Eheim 2215 Canisters, although I'm still thinking of what kind of Plants and Substrate I want, There are no Hardware stores near me so Play sand is off the list, I do however, have plenty of pet stores near me and I was wondering what is the best sand for a planted tank?

Plants that usually do well in African tanks are Valisneria, Anubias and Java fern. The last two are especially good as they can be tied to a rock or a piece of wood and will grow directly on that, therefore eliminating the possibility of being uprooted by the fish.
