I have a 3ft tank that has just cycled that has 2 angelfish, 6 glass catfish and 2 clown loaches. I am worried that the clown loaches will grow too big for the tank although the people at the pet shop tell me it will be ok? Should I take them back and get 2 bristlenose catfish instead? I also plan to put in a rainbow shark and some gouramis but am a bit confused as to how many gouramis it is safe to have in one tank and what types? please help

Eventually they will get too big for the tank and they prefer to be in groups of 6 or more. If your going to get a bristlenose then i would get 1. When I had 2 in one of my 3 ft tanks 1 bristlenose killed the other. Also you will need sand instead of gravel (if you don't already have it). It's far better and won't injure the plec. You could get some corys like I did then too. These need to be in groups of 6 or more too. They are so good to watch. Mine dive into the sand :)
