EDIT: Ok i came in from tea with the in laws and had a look at my work from the day and came to the conclusion that the tank wasn't right. Please can you let me know which you think is better, please help me deside:

Cheers,
its every time i go to the lfs and see they have new stock!!! Why do they do this, i was not meant to spend more money on the tank this month!!

I have cardinals, penguin, guppy, molly, kissing fish, dwarf gourmi and a baby angel. oh and Dio the pleco (he loves the new rocks and had claimed one of the holes as his and no one elses!)

I've always had real plants, i did look at the plastics but ended up going with real again.
when i get paid i'm going to get some little plants for the fron as its a bit empty at the mo.

what are your thoughts on background for this tank?

Nice tank but the skeleton is not good :p
I like that skull dude. I wouldn't have one in my tank but it looks cool in there's.

To Nikkig85 - tank looks cool from the pics. I swear I have those 2 of those exact same rocks (not used) given with a tank I recently got. 1 with 1 hole, 1 with 3. Spooky business. Do they come in a pack?

I don't mind the skull, adds character :good:.

Not keen on the rocks or background...I used to have the same rocks but grew to hate them, bit bright and unnatural looking for my taste :p, but as long as you like them they are great. A plain black back ground would be better, or even no background if the wall behind is a nice colour that's not too bright. Tank also looks a tad too symmetrical to me, but lots of people really like that look, makes it look less natural, but clean and tidy :good:.

Some of the plants are non-aquatic (both of the ones on the right), they are Dracaena, and will just die and rot in the water.

I hope the mussels/clams are being fed properly, as LFS are very good at giving bad information about them .

Other than that, it's a very nice tank, very good and colourful fish selection (kissing gourami will probably need to go in the future though).

I think a black background would really make the tank pop... specially w/ the skull. It would really give it that extra something it needs to stand out.

Thanks for the in put. The rocks are from the lfs, i brought them individually.

The skull is the bit of child left in me. when i was a kid i wasn't allowed one in the tank but now i'm older i can!

In the future i'm going to be adding more to the foreground (rock wise) and also adding more plants. At the mo it is a little symmetrical and i aim to lose that look after pay day. Tanks are always works in proress so when i do more i'll get some pics up.

I have decided that it look better without the background like most on here!

I miss the wood. I like the wood better than the rainbow rocks. The rocks look to man-made to me. I say that, but I still like the skull, though. :)

I've kept all the old decs so they can make a reappearance when i get bored again!
