Hi I'm new with a 80x35x45 tank and hope to keep platys and guppies.
Please could you recommend some plants to start with.

Also some plants on ebay say may have snails-should I worry?

Thank you

I'm assuming those are centimeters not inches, how many litres/gallons does it hold. Go to plantgeek.net and look at low light plants.

Hi Sally,

I have had plants off ebay. They often have snails on them and eggs and end up infesting your tank! BUT then again, go to your LFS and you still have the same problem! There is little way to overcome this other than by dipping them in a low concentration bleech solution. Personally i have never tried it and don`t think i really want to to be honest.
Besides, its fun fishing out a few snails, or pop in a loach and you have free food!

Have a look at Java Ferns, java moss, vallis, amazon swords :

Good Luck

I have always dipped my plants in a bleach bath after I pick off all the snails I can find and so far haven't had a problem and I have done it to over ten plants and haven't had a problem, you just have to be carefull the the plant isn't sensitive to bleach baths like anarchis is.

How do you do that ? In a bucket -what is the concentration of bleach? Thank you
