id say that tank is more than enugh for 1 betta, just make sure the water current isnt to swift and be careful about other fish you put in with him, bettas prefer to be alone and dont get along with very many fish.

that tank would probably be too big for the one fish surely. Any ideas of any small n cheap tanks just for the one beta. Surely they would like some sort of company like tetras or somethin?

Bettas much prefer to be alone. Other fish (not all, but the majority) nip Bettas fins as they are long and flowy. You could put alot of plants in there with your Betta to make it look prettier and more full. You could try a small variety of catfish in there. But even still your Betta may not tolerate them, so be prepared with a backup plan.

Yeah i could put plants in but it will only have 10watts n that is tiny for a 65l. I already have a 65l which is full of fish but just wanted a wee one for a betta. Its only £35.

divide it into 2 and have 2 bettas :D or you could possibly have some cories with him.Or you can buy all glass tanks that are about 3g for 12 including the hood. Then you can buy a heater and maybe a filter if you want one.I'd do it that way.Or buy a little 5g coldwater setup and buy the heater.

Tetras will kill the betta, or at least rip his hins to shred causeing finrot/bactria and then he will. Possible guppys, but they can also be fin nippers and bettas really dont like them, so thats not a great idea, but i have seen it before. Corys are great, the betta cant really hurt a cory, Snails are good, small shrimps, but not to small that the betta can eat them. albino bristle nose plecos, or other small plecos will be ok. No catfish, catfish produce alot of waste and get big. No gourmies, or other colorfull fish. No cichlids at all. and only 1 betta unless the tank is divided.

otos could be another good choice but they require a well astablished tank, my females got on great with my BNs :good:
