new tank fluval duo deep 1200

Wow that looks fab!

I've got one of these and it doesn't look half as good as yours :/

Well done :)

Looks great! I have 2 of these tanks and I really love them - Well built, provided with fairly good parts and look good :)

One of them is the Normal model and weighs in at JUST under 50G, whilst the tother is the same as yours, the "deep"model at 57G. This i have as a "Catfish only tank" :)

Where did you get yours from? Mine both came from Maidenhead Aquatics in Swindon..

Nice tank and cool pics, I have one too its my 200l in my sig, as thats what I estimate it is after gravel and other ornaments. Yours looks better than mine though :(

Are you serious that is yours!!?!?!?!? it is AMAZING!! nicest 50-60 gallon i think ive ever seen, something about it just catches my eye, its looks huge also!

thanks for your replies! i'm really proud of it so far, just cant wait to get some fish in it now lol!

I decided to go for a more open look, lots of swimming space etc.
I based it on typical small river effect. i think the mixture of different gravel, pebbles and sand is the key to this effect.

i bought it from Seapets in Colchester.
some of the other bits like the java fern on wood and the anubias nana on rock came from Pets at Home also in Colchester.

Great stuff! Just remember not to buy fish from Pets At Home! There are many fish shops around you, use the www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk "Fish Shop Finder" to find aquatics shops near you.

thats a very bold statement.... not all pets at homes are crap... thats like saying because one person got sick at mcdonalds, you should never ever eat in a mcdonalds again

Pets at Home in Colchester would get an average rating from me. The majority of their fish are fine, but some tanks have dead fish floating around and even some pretty old looking carcases with mould and all sorts on.

Seapets is far better and Swallow Aquatics are the best of the lot by far!

I thinki can safely say I'll be buying most of my fish from Swallow and Seapets

I wouldnt shop at pets at home out of principle, never mind individual reccomendations.

I believe everyone should support their local aquatics shop and not cooperations like Petsmart / Pets At Home who are just in it for the money and provide very low quality stock and are renowned for there bad treatment of fish.

And as for McDonalds, you should never eat there anyway so I find your comparison to that obsurd and somewhat badly founded. If you eat at McDonalds thats your own choice, but you are funding a multi-national that sickens the mind of children with filth, and is the cause of malnutrition in many kids.
