New Tank Arrived At Last!

Great my Fluval Roma 125 and cabinet arrived today.

set up , just letting it settle and get to temp before fishless cycle starts on the 1st.

meanwhile took the advice and worked out my required Ammonia doseage to 4 ppm

filled bucket with 5 litres of water (got into the habit of always declorinating tap water then no suprises or cock ups!)

took as guess at 3 drops of ammonia from a filled up bottle and dropper.

Conducted ammonia test = bang on 4 ppm in 5 litres

so 3 drop /5 litres = 4ppm ammonia
125L tank = 75 drops to achieve 4ppm dosage in my tank


did'nt want to count out 75 drops every time so in a new sample bottle measured 75 drops, marked off the bottle to fill from my 500ml .

sound about right anyone?

Either way guess i will find out tomorrow when the 'add and wait starts'

Good luck. If you want to speed up the process (I know how hard it is to wait) you might want to find some filter media from an established tank. You can ask the LFS or check the thread on here called 'List of Members Willing to Donate Mature Filter Media to Newbies'
