I went out today and came back with 3 plants and a Nutrafin CO2 kit.

I'm not sure what type of plants they are though, i've put the pictures up if you want to tell me what they are, I just hope the fish like em and dont eat em :)

It seems like the left is cabomba, the middle mondo grass, and the right anacharis.
They shuold not be eaten.
To be honest, the mondo grass is not a true aquatic plant. However, some people have had it grow well, while others not. While I had it, it grew pretty easily. Anarchis should grow great in any light level. Cabomba is a little but more difficult but it shoiuld be fine.
Hope this helps

Thanks, the guy told me the middle one may not grow properly at first, but he only told me after I bought it :X

The Black Widows are already eating bits that have fallen off the cabomba

actually the middle plant is a dwarf saggitaria. I know cause i got two of the exact same. Mondo grass is way smaller and has less leaves.

Anyways my ammonia levels have shot up since I put these plants in, grrr not good for my poor fishies!

wierd.... how long has is been cycled?
plants love ammonia, if anything, it should have gone done if you had any. but you shouldnt have had any anyways.... lol

In the plant on the right there is what looks like a few eggs, and ontop of one of the stems inside one of the bud like things is what appears to be mould, is this mould or some form of eggs?

woot 100th post :)

*Refering to the picture I posted further up*

I took the plant out on the right because it seems to be drooping and all the leaves are turning brown, now I have a problem with the plant on the left, the tip of it is now above the water level, what should I do about this huge plant :)

Should I cut about half of it off then replant the top half?

Yea, you could do that. I'd throw out the bottom half as it will only grow shoots and won't grow up anymore.

BTW..did you think of changing the gravel to a darker color? White seems really bright, and might actually make your fish more suttle, because of the reflection on the gravel.
