So it was my birthday on the 28th, and I got a lot of stuff for my betta, Kenji. You see, Kenji is a tough boy on the outside, but really sensitive on the inside. Last time I put something in his tank, he almost died!!
My Uncle went out of his way to buy Kenji this deluxe castle thingy with rooms, and little leaf hammoks, and java moss/fern all over it. He really wants me to put in my tank, but I don't know how to.
What i'm asking is, does any one know a stress free, easy method to introduce new stuff into my tanK?
Thanks
Zophie

not really, unless you take him out, put the ornament in and then put kenji back in

I know that seems like the simple thing to do, but last time I did that, Kenji almost died. But I guess I could try.... just don't really want to risk it, if you know what I mean.

Alpha is pretty sensitive about his environment. So whenever I make changes, I make them gradually. I leave the things he's familiar with in the tank, and add in new things with it. When I converted his tank from silk plants to real plants, I didn't move his terracotta pot cave at all. I just pulled out Alpha and put him in a 1/4 gallon jar of tank water, pulled out the silk plants, put in the real plants, and then put alpha back in. It took him a couple hours to adjust, but it wasn't a big deal. When I switched the substrate from black gravel to brown playsand, I did the same thing, removed the gravel, added the sand, and then put the plants and cave back in their original places so that it wouldn't be all new.

He'll adapt. Don't get too worried.

What size tank is he in?. The problem could be that you're changing too much of his environment at once. My bettas each have 2.5 gallons each in a divided rectangular 5 gallon tank.

Thanks for the advice, I first took out all the stuff he's used to, and after a few days put the castle in. Now Kenji's loving it! He refuses to go out, except for meal time's! :fun:
