New Stocking Question

my new stocking list:

pair of clowns, pygmy angel, rainfords goby, clown goby and 6 line wrasse. i have a 30 gallon tank. would it be ok to add a pearly jawfish? or if not, is there anything else i can put in there?

I'd stay away from the rainsfords goby. They are exceptionally poor eaters in captivity. Kind of like moorish idols or butterflies. Most just wont eat.

yea i noticed that, i am thinking of getting some live copepods for my tank very soon. Maybe it will help....So do you think i can have one more addition? like the pearly jawfish?

Actually with the rainsford its not a matter of pods being present. Many of them just plain dont eat. The tank could be littered with pods, algaes, mysis shrimp, etc but they just won't eat them. Dont know why.

If you ditch the rainsford, go ahead and add the jawfish

I would also advise avoiding the rainford's goby. We had one that didn't eat, one that does. I have noticed that the one that does eat picks at my macro algae a LOT, so maybe he eats something growing on that.

Anyway, the jawfish would be a good addition. I also have one, and he's a really fun fish to watch. Just make sure you have enough sand in the tank that he can move it around and make himself a little home. They'll also use shells and bigger things in the sand.

yes i am aware of the sand bed depth for them. my sand bed is about an inch and a half on one side and about 1 inch on the other, didint do it on purpose, i just guess the power heads did it. but im assuming he will pick the deepest part. I have an idea to make a sort of cave near a larger rock using rubble rock to entise him to go there? who knows, maybe will work

and as for the rainfords, i cant take him out, he hides in the smallest places and i dont want to take everything out of my tank, i will try and feed him better things but if he dies i cant say i didint try.
