Hey guys can you please help me if I should add ich x to my quarantine tank for new fishes to prevent the disease?

I'm not 100% sure, however I did a little some searching and it seems to me that Ich X is used mainly to treat. However I would wait for a second opinion on this before making any major decisions.

Although I love Corey from aquarium Coop I disagree with his preventative medication advise. He recommends the same 3 meds for all new fish indiscriminately, I wonder if this is for financial gain?
Medications are absorbed by fish and if they are used when unnecessary this is often detrimental.
New fish are under extreme stress due to transport and environmental changes and adding a chemical soup will further increase this.
Ich rarely needs medication and, if present, can be treated by raising the temperature to 30c/84f for two weeks. Fish stores don't tell you this as there is no profit for them.
Corey also advocates preventative use of erithomycin. Antibiotics should never be misused as antibiotic resistance is a great threat to humans aswell as animals.

Quarantine is a great practice. It should calm and settle new fish, not just protect existing fish. If they settle quickly they are less likely to succumb to diseases.

Acclimate new fish to the quarantine tank. Net them into the tank to avoid adding shop water. Do not feed nor use lighting on the first day. Provide shelter such as a plant or dried almond leaves.

If they show ich symptoms, raise the temperature to 30c/84f for two weeks.
