I want to place the order for my new tank, the dimensions 2,2meter by .5m and .6 high

I am planning to automate most of the maintenance.

I will ask the LFS to drill 3 sets of holes 4/set for all the equipment .

I am planning to automate the water changes using a normal garden type computer and valve to drain and refill the water.

I will use this computer to regulate the lights from dawn to dusk.

Because I intend to keep Hap(in large numbers) in this tank and I have seen my LFS use sum instead of canisters filters I am leaning strongly to incorporate a sump it seems to me this is the best method of running a large tank

Input would be appreciated.

Thanks, I am planning under water filter with 3 power heads, Seeing the hap prefers open water I want to leave 2/3 of the tank free of any rocks with only medium size pebbles and some crushed coral.

My 77g tank will then only house my mbunas

Our water in Melkbos South Africa is of a very hi quality and needs to be brought to temperature and that’s it.

Should I aerate the water in the sump prior return to tank or should I add the aeration to the power heads.

I have decided to introduce females to my hap tank and will add 3or more per male.

I have asked my LFS to get me these female fish but he recon it is very difficult because the breeder are protecting their resources and do not want to supply them with female fish.
