Recently I had a fish with parasites, I treated him but he remained in the hospital tank. Now i had a new problem with a fish swimming straight up and down. So I moved him to the hospital tank as well. Now I see a curve in his spine and he does not move his back fin very much if at all. After treating him in that tank his behavior is better but he still has the curve. Now I went and looked online and it says it could be fish TB I put my hands in that tank like 6 times now before i heard it can be transferred to humans (crap I hope i will be okay). Now the silver fish is fine but I am afraid to put him back incase the platty gave him TB as well. Is there any other disease that can give him a curved spine? That is the ONLY symptom he has of it.

Hi,

a member of this forum, WILDER, sent me a link today that has a list of diseases with pics. If you scroll down, you'll see a pic of a fish with a bent spine. Is it how your fish looks like?

I've just begun taking care of fish, so I personally can't help you much, but, according to this website, there are many other causes to a bent spine other than TB (which is also listed therein).

Anyway, I hope it's not TB and that you and your fishies are safe.

And yeah, I agree that you'd better keep both of them away from the healthy ones until you can rule out TB.

Good luck!
