i have a dalmation platy (new) i arrived home only to discover a large lump on her spinal area near the tail.. im not sure if its a cancer or a borken tailbone, will she recover?

its a broken spione, i looked closely her spine goes up and looks like it fractures, shes in pain i can tell, shes just a juvi fish but all other fish are fullgrown(besides babies) i also have a ghost shrimp(which i dont know howto feed)

As she hurt herself on something in the tank, if she in pain sad to say i would put her out of her misery bless her, can't mend a broken spine and it could get infected.
If you think she in pain and far from saving, get a jug of very coldwater add some ice cubes so it really cold and place the fish in it, it won't take long, but leave her a while just to make sure she passed on, so sorry.

I wonder if the strimp has had ago at her, go to invertbrates they will help you with the strimp over there, sorry can't help never kept them and they freak me out.

what do pest snail eggs look like? lol theres large clear clumps with white spots in the middle sticking to the side of my breeding bin

Not sure they could be snail eggs, do you have snails in your tank, another thing i don't like, not into invertbrates.
Ask in tropical chit chat loads of snail thread over there, or do a search on the site for snails, never want a snail in my tank that why i don't have live plants.

Looks like strand of jelly to this thread.

yeah tis eggs, but the egg and gelly is bigger than the snail! will platies eat baby-baby snails? smushed ones?

No they won't eat snails, hows the platy doing.
Don't leave dead snails in the tank they can be tonic to fish.

shes scared because shes tiny compared to the adults w/one growing elderly(sad) he WAS dominant now hes not and he loosing scales, and the new dom.male and 1 female are a pairing(weird)they swim together, however miss broken spine although adorable and VERY smart(figured out feeding in a few hours) she could not get all the food she needed because of her tail, the ghost shrimp kelled over for sime reason???(too brakish) so i added more fresh water(siphoned water out) i will be returning her soon because she simply will not make it like this, unless it will mend itself together again...

Don't take her back if she in pain i would end her misery.
The fish losing scales has he knocked them off on ornaments in the tank.

actually she was doing better at the lfs because she could eat, i dont know about ornaments just plastic plants and gravel and a plastic cave thing

no that fish just has lost scales, theyll grow back right? , the color of the scaleless area is silverish white all over

More concerned why the fish is losing it scales as the fish will be losing if protection.
Is there any fluffy growths on the fish, does it flick and rub, or labour breath.

no he gets persued by the dominant fish though... thats why i bought another female so that there will be no problems
