Thanks for the nice comments...

It's a middle of the road camera IMO, a Canon Digital Rebel, so it is a SLR, but it's also the first DSLR, so not great by today's standards. I'd like to think there's a little bit of skill involved as well

by todays standards...these pictures are astonishly clear! i mean to be fair the back ground is a tad blury but who cares when the fish is clearer that it would be when you face to face with it?!
in other words, my pics are like weeds to roses against your pics. extremely good

That's the point The background is supposed to be out of focus, so the fish, which is in focus, stands out more.
