It had been a while since I photographed my tank, so I decided some new ones were in order. Enjoy!

Bumblebee, Yellow Lab, Auratus, Red Zebra, Ahli, Albino Zebra, and at the very far right edge you can see the top of a Johanni above the rock.

I missed a couple of the other fish in the tank; it was feeding time and they were zooming around eating Hikari Gold.

10 cichlids, plus the algae eater. There was another algae eater and a rubberlip pleco, but I haven't seen either in months so they are presumed dead and eaten.

Nice fish. which algae eaters can you have in with the cichlids

The best option is Bristlenose Plecs, great algae eaters, don't get too big and most importantly are tough enough to cope with the high aggression levels.

Other good bottom-feeders for African tanks that are compatible are the majority of the Synodontis catfish species, although bear in mind they do not eat algae.

aint those rocks expensive, something like £20 for a 10" piece?
u have a lovely setup, i am wishing to have something similar, great picks to :good:

Good looking tank! I like the rock

I love the electric blue boy or girl(?)

And nice rock. What are they?

Do you have a full tank shot?

Which Lake are the Africans?

Looks like you have an electric Blue Cichlid too. Is yours REALLY aggresive? I have one and he terrorizes everyone in my tank. Even my other africans.

Sorry for the slow response...

Yes, the rocks are pricey at $2 a pound or so, which adds up very quickly when you want to build the entire back wall of a sizable tank out of it. :/ I get it from an independent store in Western NC, which is where my parents live (I am about 4 hours away). When I visit them I go to that store, and over a few months I bought out their complete stock of bone stone several times to complete the tank. The rocks are quite stable and I'm not worried about them falling.

I had a rubberlip pleco in there and he disappeared without a trace. Killed and eaten. There was also another algae eater which suffered the same fate, but they seem to be leaving this one alone pretty well.

The electric blue is a male, and he does not seem to be any more aggressive than the others, but that's probably because he was added last after they had all made their territories, and he had to fight for space in the beginning. Since these photos were taken, he's become much more healthy. His blue is usually darker and vibrant, with more pronounced vertical striping, and his tail and anal fin are displaying some nice yellow streaking.
