Hi all very new to tropical fish I bought my first tank 9 days ago I was just wondering I have bought plastic plants for my aquarium but should I be thinking about putting real plants in there? Before I get my first fish

What sort of lighting do you have in there?
How big is the tank?
What fish were you looking at keeping?

Hi thank you for your replies I have cycled my tank all the water checks have been fine I have 2 dwarf gourami but one of them doesn't look we'll looks very lame and is staying on the bottom of the tank it has bursts of energy where it flies all over but really the majority of the time it's just on the bottom it started this morning looks quite swollen around the stomach area

Hi there it's only a small tank it's a 64litre so not too big we got this one to introduce my son to them eventually it will go in his bedroom when he is old enough then I can get a bigger one

Hello and welcome from another new member - Have you got a picture of your poorly Gourami? Is it a female and how much are you feeding?
 
Edit: If you only bought your tank 9 days ago how have you cycled it so quickly?  Chances are it is not cycled after that short amount of time, even with seeded filter media. What are your readings?
