Hello guys, great website by the way,ok here is the question.
I have been given a dry set up consisting of a fluval roma 240, now the hood had to be thrown away as it had
rain water in the works and was dangerous. Also was given an arcadia pendant mercury vapor type with 125w
dennerle trocal bulb. What i need to know is can the plastic hood support be cut and removed as it's right in the middle where i want to hang the pendant lighting.I think it may shut out some light if it is in place.Any ideas
would be great
thanks.

The simple answer is absolutely NOT!!!

The 'plastic hood support' as you call it is in fact an integral structure designed to strengthen the tank and to stop it bowing under the water pressure. Tampering with any kind of tank bracing will compromise it's integrity.
