New Member And Tank!

Hi everyone!! My names Andy and live in Rotherham South Yorkshire (But please don't hold this against me lol) I've been keeping and breeding fish for the last 37yrs on and off. I've had a break from keeping fish for around 7yrs now but am now back!!


I've just bought a 224 ltr tank its 26X 26X cube. I've only had it for a week but have already got fish in there.I'm useing an external filter ph 7.2 hardness 10 ammonia0 nitrites 0 nitrates 0. The fish are as follows....

8 rummy nose tetras.
6 columbian tetras
6 torpedo barbs WHAT LOVELY FISH THEY ARE!!
6 RAINBOW BOESANI
1 leopard frog plec.
5 c julli

When i had fish before i bread Malawis and Tangs with over 40 tanks. I'm gonna try not to go down the tones of tank way again lol.

I think i have enough experience to get me through lol. Everything is doing fine. Although i wouldn't recommend it to all new comers at all.

No this is a uk site with majority of the members been from the uk

Welcome to the forum, stryper!

In the last seven years the method of fishless cycling has become popular and many of the newer fishkeepers advocate it. My tanks were started using the traditional method too, so I understand that it works fine. Good luck and I hope to see many more of your posts.
