Hello, I am setting up a new Mbuna tank in a 210 ltr wich is 210cm long. I have put some rocks in there so the back side of the tank is almost covered and there should be plenty of hiding places.
I was mainly wandering about how the species would mix that i am thinking about getting.
Pseudotropheus zebra x3
Pseudotropheus estherae x2
Pseudotropheus demasoni x2
Pseudotropheus lombardoi x4
Pseudotropheus elongatus x3

I will be buying rather small specimens so sexing will probably not be possible. Should I maybe leave on species out and get more of another species?

Thank you

this tank is about a 55 gallon (US). when you say p. zebra what color morph are you talking about? p. estherae is a zebra, so is there another that you had in mind?

i would take out the demasoni. very aggressive and territorial even with their own kind. if you like the coloring of the demasoni, you might want to look into p. minutus.

I´m talking about the light blue zebra with dark blue stripes, I think it´s the most common of them (this is my first African aquarium).
I might take your advise on the demansoni and replace them with two extra elongatus, would that be a more peaceful setup?
Thank you for your reply.

Although volumn-wise it is a 55g, the tank is 7ft in length! How do you get that? It must be a 7x1x1 ft tank. If this is the case, shouldn't it be able to handle species such as demasoni?

i noticed that you've looked at badmans tropical fish website. i was just wondering if you've checked out liveaquaria.com
it's very informative & the fish i ordered were excellent.......
just wanted to let you know about liveaquaria.com if you were planning on ordering online.

that is a p. callainos. the zebra has many different color morphs. zebras are known crossbreeders. they will mate outside their species. finding one with the stripes that prominent will be hard since most of the callainos are like the one in the link i posted.

I´m sorry, the tank is not 210cm long, it´s 120cm long :*)
I decided to cancel on the demansoni and instead I got 2 Pseudotropheus crabro, thanks for the advice.
a_ellis, thanks for the advice, but I cant order fish online from another country.
The fish are all in the tank now and they seem to be doing fine, the elongatus actually seem to be the most agressive at the moment.
