just set up my trigon 190 to home cichlids. The tank was until recently a planted community tank. I have used the mature tetratec ex1200 from this tank, and also upgraded lighting to 2x36w interpet PC t5 screwed to the flaps with daylight tubes.

used coral sand and ocean rock for decor, inspired by a few tanks seen on here.

Pseudotropheus Elongatus x 3
White Top Afra x 4
Rusty Cichlid x 2
Yellow Lab x 4
Pseudotropheus Crabro x 4

Stocking is a bit experimental, no probs so far with aggression but they are all still young, fingers crossed. unknown gender ratios

Pics below! Not best quality taken on camera phone

looks really good

Looks great!

The only thing I'd caution you on is the p.crabro. They have a reputation as being extremely nasty, though I've never personally experienced it. I kept a single female in my tank with great success, so has Ferris, and kj has a young one in her tank. However, if you were to end up with a couple of males, things could be very ugly, so just keep a close eye on them. :good:

will do but no probs so far.

As for plants, I am not sure. I may let things settle down and then decide in a couple of months. I quite like the marine look for now though

Nice!! especially looks well against the black background. I dont see anything disturbing the surface though ??... If you want the 'marine' look, you could add a few tiny colourful 'marine like' plants (have to be fake of course) scattered in the rocks. Thats the look i tried for but it dint last for long.. my ocean rock turned bright yellow with algae!! Which i dint like so ive now got river cobbles..
