Basically means they must be connected straight to 240V. Normally for a fluorescent there is a ballast in series with the tube (and the starter is in parallel with the tube). No good for Juwel and other built in units as not possible to access the ballest as it is a sealed unit.I am very interested in a pair of these but if using with an existing light unit you will have to modify the electrics in order to us the LED tubes,

INSTALLATION NOTE: When replacing conventional fluorescent (neon) tubes in existing fittings with LED tubes the starter must be removed and the ballast should be bypassed.
SO this has put me off (slightly)
