Hi,  am restarting fishkeeping (tropical only this time) so have some experience but still have questions.  Currently I have a 6 gallon tower with 2 tiny angelfish.  I've never kept ciclids before but I have to say that I've really become a fan of them!!  NICE FISH :)  I'm trying to talk my partner into a bigger tank.....no one can have too many it seems.  We shall see.  Used to be crazy about Eclipse Marineland setups but they are no more, apparently, so really appreciate any info on tank setups, sizes, filtering setups and if "fishless" cycling really works and how it can best be achieved.  Thanks

First of all, you desperately need a bigger tank for your angels. They need a tank that is a minimum of three feet long and eighteen inches tall. If they stay in the six gallon for too long, they'll end up stunted or even die. In the meantime, to keep them safe, do as many water changes as you can manage. Is their current tank cycled?

Fishless cycling definitely works, and we have a good article on how it works and how to go about it in our cycling section, here; http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?/topic/421488-cycling-your-new-fresh-water-tank-read-this-first/. If your six gallon is cycled, however, you can just move all the filter media to a bigger tank's filter and move the fish at the same time, with no need for a cycle.

Welcome to the forum, must admit your tank does small for the angels.
